Regina Chu, Judge Who Presided Over Potter Trial, to Retire
Hennepin County District Court Judge Regina Chu called the trial of former Brooklyn Center officer Kim Potter "the saddest case" in her 20 years on the bench. Now Chu plans to retire. Chu actually submitted her resignation on Feb. 15, three days before she gave Potter a two-year sentence. But Chu’s decision to step down wasn't announced publicly until this week when Governor Tim Walz put out a call for applicants to fill the job.
