Lauren Smith-Fields was a 23 year old African-American female who was found dead in her Bridgeport, CT apartment on December 12, 2021. Officials alleged that she died of a drug overdose but the attorney for Smith-Field's family alleges that police failed to conduct a proper investigation pertaining to her death. This has led to protesting in the city of Bridgeport accusing the local police & city officials of racial bias for failing to perform DUE PROCESS when it comes to the death of an African-American.
