In this video, Tamsier Joof (founder of the Seereer Resource Centre (SRC), Seereer Radio, and co-founder of Seereer Heritage Press)) pays tribute and remember our late colleague, friend, uncle and mentor Professor Thiaw who sadly passed away 3 years ago today (10 Sep 2017). This video is the English version. The Wolof version has already been uploaded on our channel. This project was a collaborative effort between the SRC, Seereer Radio and their respective teams, and other notables within the Seereer community including Yalgor Famack who conceived the idea.
This tribute along with its corresponding Wolof version are part of a series of tributes to come. This is merely Part 1, other parts to follow.
The Seereer Resource, Seereer Radio and Tamsier Joof would like to thank our entire team and all those who contributed to this project. See video for credits and thanks.
Our prayers to Professor Issa Laye Thiaw. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace.
Apologies for any subtitle typos.
Typo at 1:14:09 should read: Prof. Thiaw: "There are very few people in Senegal and Gambia who are non-Seereers."
